Agartala/UNI: Police arrested four youths with two pistols in Kamalnagar village of Sonamura in Sepahijala district on Sunday, an official said on Monday.

They were detained the previous night with arms on the charge of instigating violence following the results of the just concluded assembly poll.

Police said the accused were found involved in the attacks on several left supporters in the Sonamura area.

During the raid, police were able to catch four of the gang with two pistols and the rest fled away.

"Investigation is going on to find out the source of the arms," said OC Sonamura PS Manik Debnath adding that the search has been continuing to arrest the others of the gang.
