Four people killed, several others injured in Tawang police firing incident

Guwahati, May 2 (IBNS): At least four people were killed and several others injured in police firing incident, when a mob tried to burn a police station in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang on Monday.
The incident took place near Tawang police station on Monday, when supporters of Lama Lobsang Gyatso, who was in police custody gheraoed the police station and demanded unconditional release of Gyatso.
 
According to the reports, the situation turned violent when the mob tried to burn the police station.
 
Police firstly had resorted cane charge on the mob and then firing.
 
In the police firing incident, at least four protesters killed and several others injured.
 
The injured persons were rushed to the nearest hospital.
 
Lama Lobsang Gyatso, an anti-dam activist  was arrested on April 28 following his remarks on the nationality of the Abbot of the Tawang Monastery Guru Tulku Rimpoche.
 
Later Gyatso was released after the police firing incident.
