Free medical health camp held in Nagaland’s Wokha

Kohima/IBNS: The Wokha District Administration, DLCW-MSK in collaboration with department of Health & Family Welfare, Wokha in Nagaland had organized a free medical health camp under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in celebration of Children’s Day at Likya Community hall (Orchid colony) Wokha.

EAC Wokha, Imtinungla Longkumer said that the health camp is focused to generate awareness on pre-conception, pre-natal diagnostic Techniques Act for women and children of Wokha district. Poster campaign in collaboration with Bharat Scout & Guides to spread awareness on gender equality was also conducted.

Apart from free health screening free medicines, sanitary pads were also given under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Information Education Communication (IEC) materials on Covid-19 and adolescence health leaflets were also distributed during the camp.

Later the team also visited the children's home namely, Fondling Harbor and Morning Star children’s home and distributed free study material.

Anung appreciated the co-operation provided by the Health and Family Welfare department for conducting the health camp successfully.

Chief Medical Officer Wokha, Dr.C.W Tungoe stated that the health camp was for people who were unable to access healthcare services in the District Hospital Covid-19 crisis. Dy. CMO, Wokha Dr.Zuben Kikon also thanked the District Administration for organizing such an event to mark the Children’s Day celebration.

Sr. Dental Surgeon Dr. Daisy Ovung, Dr.Thungchanbeni S Patton (Ayush, DPM), Dr. Wobenthung M Kithan (MO), Dr. Thungjamo Jungio (MO) and Dr. Achumi Kikon (MO) supported by nurse from Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital assisted during the medical camp.
