G20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir: India comes down heavily on Pakistan

Srinagar: India on Tuesday came down on Pakistan heavily for the unwarranted indulgence in the interior matters of India regarding holding of G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Srinagar.

“Who is Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir is our land and whatever we are doing here ..doing on our own land and for the betterment of the people”, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy told media persons on the sidelines of 3rd G20 Tourism Working Group meet being held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC) Srinagar.

The high-profile third G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting kicked off in Srinagar on Monday amid unprecedented security.

The three-day G20 meet is the first major international event in Jammu and Kashmir since 2019, when the erstwhile state's special status was scrapped and it became a Union Territory.

"Who they (Pakistan) are and on what rights they are saying indulging in the interior matter of India,” Reddy asked when a reporter said that the High commissioner of Pakistan in India issued a statement on YouTube targeting the G20 Tourism Working Group meet which has been going on in Srinagar for the past 2 days.

He said for the past 75 years after independence Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India and for that thousands of people have sacrificed their lives.

“I urge Pakistan to mind their own business and do the best for their own people, provide them employment and food which you are not able to provide them,” Reddy added.

“Why are they raising fingers in India. They have no right to say anything against India,” Reddy questioned.

He said Pakistan is struggling with the problems within and people there are dying for food and employment. They have no rice and no Gas.

“Why don’t they look after their own problems,” he said.

"The people of Jammu and Kashmir are happy and we are doing everything for them," Reddy said and added whatever the people of Jammu and Kashmir need it is the duty of our government to provide them everything and there is no need to give any importance to what Pakistan is saying.

“Pakistan has finished and we don’t need to think about them,” he said adding “we will think about the people of Jammu and Kashmir and whatever they require we will provide for them it is our duty.”
