Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said the upcoming G20 Meeting would give a boost to the tourism sector and also attract more investments to the union territory.

He said the J & K administration and people have jointly made all the arrangements for the important event.

“The success of the event (G20) will send a message across the world which will help to boost tourism in coming days and attract more investments here ,” Sinha told reporters after inaugurating the Jhelum Rajbagh Riverfront in Srinagar.

Sinha said the G20 event will also showcase the hospitality of people of Kashmir to the whole world.

“I also thank Prime Minister Narendera Modi for choosing J&K for the grand event,” the LG said.

The third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting will be held from May 22- 24 in Srinagar. This is the first major international event being hosted in Jammu and Kashmir since its special status was scrapped in 2019 and the erstwhile state was divided into two union territories.
