Girl raped by father's friend in Ghazipur

Ghazipur/UNI:  A girl was allegedly raped by her father's friend for several months in the Qasimabad area of this Uttar Pradesh district, police said on Tuesday.

The matter came to light when it was revealed that the girl was four months pregnant.

Following a written complaint furnished by the victim's father, the accused has been arrested by the police. As per the father of the girl, the accused was his friend.

The accused is also a 'tantrik' and used to frequent their house on the pretext of 'tantra-mantra.' During the same period, he allegedly raped his daughter. However, the girl shared her ordeal after she became four months pregnant.

The accused is a resident of the Bahadurganj town.

Police have said that the victim's medical check-up is being carried out to confirm the crime.
