Dehradun/Shimla/Mumbai, July 3 (IBNS): Heavy rains have created havoc in the state of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra.
In Uttarakhand, at least 38 people have been killed as a result of cloudburst.

Massive landslides have blocked the national highways and are affecting the rescue operations in the state.

The  Chamba-Rishikesh National Highway-94 and Chamoli-Badrinath- NH- 58 have been blocked due to landslides.

Rescue operations are on to get the traffic moving.

The Met Department has also predicted more rains in Uttarakhand.

In Himachal Pradesh, landslides triggered by heavy rains, have blocked the Shimla-Delhi highway.

According to reports, one person was killed and four others were injured seriously when the vehicle in which they were travelling was hit by falling boulders in the highway.

The rescue operations are hit in Himachal too as landslides continue to affect the areas.

With Met department predicting more rains here, there is also a fear of rivers raising above the safety mark and overflowing which could cause flood.

In Mumbai, normal life has been brought to standstill as a result of incessant rainfall.

Areas like Dadar and Matunga have been completely inundated.

Mumbai's local trains are still functioning in the rains but its schedule has been severely hit.
