Hit by biker, traffic inspector lands into hospital in Jammu

Jammu, May 19 (UNI): A Duty Traffic Inspector on Sunday got injured after he was hit by a motorcyclist while performing professional duties in Talab Tillo area here.

A DTI namely Surjeet Kumar, deployed in Talab Tillo area, this morning suffered a critical head injury after he was hit by a motorcyclist while he was about to stop him for fine in view of violating traffic norms.

"The traffic Inspector was immediately rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment as he has suffered a serious head injury," police sources said.

They said that the biker was not wearing the helmet and was being stopped by the traffic men when he in an attempt to escape, hit him.

"We have registered a case and started the investigation," police added.
