Huge cache of arms-ammu recovered in Assam’s Chirang district

Guwahati/IBNS: Police recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Assam’s Chirang district on Wednesday.

Based on intelligence input, a police team of Chirang district under Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) launched an operation at Kumarsali village area under Bijni police station and recovered the arms and ammunition.

The police team recovered one AK series rifle, two magazines, 26 rounds live ammunition of 7.62 mm from the area.

On December 5, security personnel had recovered huge cache of arms, ammunition, explosives including four AK-56 rifles, six muzzle loaded pipe guns, seven 7.65 mm pistols, 26 numbers of 7.65 mm pistol magazines, three desi cartoz pistols, hand grenades, large number of live ammunition which were kept concealed underground in thick forest area of Ripu reserve forest under Gossaigaon police station in Kokrajhar district.
