Human trafficker Kamran Haider arrested after 2,500-km chase across states

Haider, who frequently changed locations to evade arrest, was finally captured near Nampally Railway Station on December 7, just as he prepared to flee to another hideout, media reports said.

The accused, along with accomplices Manjoor Alam alias Guddu, Sahil, Ashish alias Akhil, and Pawan Yadav alias Afzal, ran a consultancy firm, Ali International Services, which fronted as a legitimate operation but was involved in trafficking vulnerable Indians to Laos and Thailand under the guise of job offers, PTI reported.

One victim, Naresh Lakhavath, alleged that upon arrival in Thailand, his passport was confiscated, and he was coerced into working for a Chinese company engaged in cyber fraud.

Investigations revealed that Haider’s syndicate forced victims to participate in scams targeting European and American citizens and extorted money from those attempting to escape, often through cryptocurrency wallets.

The NIA also found that victims trafficked by Haider’s firm worked in inhumane conditions.

A Rs 2 lakh reward had been announced for Haider’s arrest.

After months of coordinated operations across multiple states, two Delhi Police teams traced him to Hyderabad and successfully arrested him after several days of non-stop chase.
