Hurriyat Conference asks Chief Minister Mehbooba Muft to join freedom struggle

Srinagar, Aug 28 (IBNS): The Hurriyat Conference Sunday asked Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to join the Kashmir Freedom struggle, a day after the ruling PDP appealed to its chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani to give her a chance to address the grievances of the people.

“We have three pronged relations with Mehbooba human - national  and religious, but she has utterly failed to uphold any of these. Humanity teaches us to respect and honour the human beings irrespective of their caste, creed or culture. But she, by her barbaric armed forces and uncontrolled police, has turned this heavenly land into the hell,” a Geelani Hurriyat Spokesman said.

"Here every house is mourning the demise of their loved ones, thereby tarnishing the very fabric of this honourable and pious relation," the spokesman said.

Hurriyat has issued the statement after the ruling Peoples Democratic Party Spokesman Mehbooba Beg's appeal to Geelani to treat Mehbooba as his daughter and help her restore peace in the valley which is witnessing massive violence for more than 50 days since death of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.

Regarding national relations, Hurriyat said that it demands from her at least to be on the part of her people and join their struggle.

“Geelani is the leader of this nation and he treats every women as his daughters, but how is this 'daughter' who feels happy to confine her fatherly figure in his house for years together but don’t hesitate to emotionally blackmail him to call for his help whenever her position is threatened,” the Spokesman added.

“As a 'father' he advised the 'daughter' no to ruin her hereafter for the comfort and luxury of those who kill and destroy us time will come when your inner will curse you for being so but time may not be on your side,” Hurriyat said
