Hyderabad, May 9 (IBNS) A 25-year-old Indian woman was allegedly tortured to death in Saudi Arabia, reports said.

Identified as Asima Khatoon, the victim hailed from Hyderabad and was working as a maid in Saudi Arabia, CNN-News 18 reported.

Asima was allegedly kept there illegally after her visa expired.

Her family said that she had complained to them about the abuse and asked them to arrange for her return.

"She went there and she was assaulted there. She was kept in a room, they did not feed her. She told me she has been tortured and she asked me to bring her back at any cost," the victim's family was quoted as saying.

Reports have stated that the Telangana government had written to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), asking them for her rescue.

Telangana police has also written to the gulf nation, seeking for Asima's death.
