Kolkata/UNI: The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the multi-crore rupees scam of defunct i-Core Ponzi scam on Monday interrogated West Bengal Legislative Assembly member Madan Mitra for about two hours at its office in the city.

Sources said the former minister and now the MLA from Kamarhati was quizzed from 1100 to 1300 hours at the CBI's office, CGO Complex, Salt Lake, in connection to his alleged attendance in some official functions with the defunct financial investment company.

The central probe agency during investigation in the said Ponzi scam came to know that Mr Mitra had attended a function of i-Core at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.

The agency also summoned Mitra's son Swaroop Mitra to appear before the CBI officials on Tuesday at the same place.

Before Mr Mitra's appearance at the CBI office, the probe agency also quizzed Bengal industrial minister Partha Chatterjee and Water resources minister Manas Bhunia at their respective offices recently in the same case.
