Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also uttered the "Khela Hobe" slogan, which has turned out to be one of the popular catch-phrase in West Bengal in the election season, calling herself as the "goalkeeper" of her ruling Trinamool Congress.

"Khela hobe (the game is on) and I will be the goalkeeper.... I will see who wins this battle," Banerjee said at an event.

The slogan, which was first raised by Trinamool strongman in Birbhum Anubrata Mondal, trended on social media with not only the ruling party MLAs raising it but also opposition leaders picking it up.

While many have feared violence in the elections, several social media users shared memes, poems adding colours to the election campaign.

Trinamool's young spokesperson Debangshu Bhattacharya has been in the frontline in the party to raise the slogan with a poem in various rallies.

Banerjee uttered the slogan at a time the Trinamool is taking on an aggressive BJP, which is aiming to wrest power for the first time in the state.
