IED blast triggered by suspected Maoists in Jharkhand leaves 11 Indian security personnel injured

Ranchi, May 28 (IBNS):  An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast triggered by suspected Maoists in Jharkhand's Saraikela area left at least 11 Indian security forces personnel injured, media reports said.

The target of the attack was reportedly security forces.

An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded at about 5 am in Kuchai area of Saraikela injuring eight men of the CRPF's COBRA unit and three cops, who were out on a special operation, reported NDTV.

As per the Indian news channel report, the Maoists fired at the security personnel and then escaped.

Security forces have cordoned off the area.
