India and Kyrgyz Republic sign six business agreements on Tuesday

New Delhi, Dec 20 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev engaged in a delegation level talks, at Hyderabad House, in New Delhi on Tuesday.

President Atambayev is leading a high-level delegation of ministers, senior officials and business leaders from the Kyrgyz Republic.

Welcoming President Almazbek Atambaev on his first state visit to India, PM Modi said, "The relationship between India and the Kyrgyz Republic is filled with goodwill from centuries of shared historical links."

Talking about their meeting, PM Modi said, "We discussed how we could work together to secure our youth & society against common challenges of terrorism, extremism & radicalism," tweeted the Prime Minister's Office.

According to another PMO tweet, PM Modi said, "We discussed how we could work together to secure our youth & society against common challenges of terrorism, extremism & radicalism. Kyrgyz Republic is a valuable partner in our common pursuit of making Central Asia a region of sustainable peace, stability & prosperity."

"President Atambaev and I agreed on the need to connect our economies more deeply. We will work to strengthen bilateral trade and economic linkages and facilitate greater people-to-people exchanges, " said Narendra Modi.

On Tuesday, India and Kyrgyzstan signed six agreements in various fields after the meeting between the two leaders.

On Dec 14, the Union Cabinet, chaired by  Prime Minister Narendra Modi had approved the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare for signing of an agreement between India and Kyrgyzstan on cooperation in the field of agriculture and food related industry.
