India believes Sheikh Hasina's visit will further strengthen multifaceted relationship between two nations

New Delhi: India perceives that Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina's visit to the neighbouring country will further strengthen the multifaceted relationship between the two nations.

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi earlier said in a statement: "In recent years, both sides have sustained high level of engagements, including at the highest level between our two countries."

"The forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will further strengthen the multifaceted relationship between our two countries based on strong historical and cultural ties and mutual trust and understanding," he said.

Hasina will arrive in the country on Monday.

She will visit India till Sept 8.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina last visited New Delhi in October 2019.

"During her visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will call on Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu and Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar and hold bilateral consultations with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also likely to visit Ajmer.
