New Delhi Apr 22 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the rest of the world in celebrating the occasion of Earth Day on Wednesday and said India can show the way to the world in mitigating climate chan

In his tweet, Modi said: "#EarthDay is the perfect occasion to reaffirm our commitment to keep our Planet clean, green & focus on sustainable development."


"We belong to a culture that believes in the Mantra- Earth is our Mother & we are her children," he said.

The Prime Minister said: "Caring for the environment is an integral part of our ethos. India can truly show the way to the world in mitigating climate change."

Earth Day, a day to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth's natural environment, is being observed around the planet on Wednesday.
