New Delhi/IBNS: India has cautioned against the vested interests trying to create differences after the Nepalese government issued a strong statement about the inclusion of a border area in the Indian territory.

Maintaining that Indian the new political map of India does not revise its borders with Nepal, the Official spokesperson of the Ministry of External affairs Raveesh Kumars on Thursday said in the weekly press briefing, "Our map accurately depicts the sovereign territory of India. The new map has in no manner revised our boundary with Nepal. The boundary delineation exercise with Nepal is ongoing under the existing mechanism.

"We reiterate our commitment to find a solution through dialogue in the spirit of our close and friendly bilateral relations," the foreign ministry said.

In the statement also cautioned "against vested interests trying to create differences between our two countries".

In the Indian map, the Kalapani area has been placed in the Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand whereas Nepal considers the unresolved area to be part of its Darchula district.

The row over the Kalapani area surfaced days after the Indian government issued a new political map of India showing the boundaries between the newly formed Union Territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

On Wednesday, the Nepalese Foreign Minister had said in a press conference that all border issues between India and Nepal should be resolved bilaterally through mutual understanding and Nepal rejects any unilateral move.
