India, Pakistan to restart bilateral dialogue: Sushma Swaraj

Islamabad, Dec 9 (IBNS): Ending speculations regarding the future of Indo-Pak relations, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is visiting Islamabad, on Wednesday announced that both countries will commence a comprehensive bilateral dialogue.
"We have decided that both the countries will commence a comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue. Foreign Secretaries of both the countries to meet later, " Swaraj said while addressing a joint media conference with Pakistan's Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz. 
 
"How this dialogue can be taken forward - the schedule and modalities will be decided in due course," she said.
 
Swaraj, who arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday to attend the 5th Ministerial Conference on Heart of Asia Istanbul Process on Afghanistan, earlier in the day met Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
 
"Conveying India's commitment to good neighborly relations, EAM @SushmaSwaraj calls on PM Nawaz Sharif," MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.
 
The development comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif recently on the sidelines of an UN summit in Paris.
 
On Sunday, the National Security Advisors of the two nations reportedly held a secret meeting in Bangkok, discussing a range of issues including peace and security, terrorism and Jammu and Kashmir.
