New Delhi: India successfully conducted the training launch of nuclear-capable Short-Range Ballistic Missile Prithvi-II from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha on Tuesday.

A well-established system, the Prithvi-II missile, has been an integral part of India’s nuclear deterrence, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

The missile struck its target with high accuracy, the Ministry added.

The user training launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters of the missile.

The missile has a strike range of 350 km and has already been inducted into the forces.

The Indian Air Force(IAF) recently successfully test-fired the Extended Range Version of Brahmos Air Launched missile against a Ship Target from a Su-30MKI aircraft.
