Indian government dedicates Jaffna Cultural Center to people of Sri Lanka

The iconic Jaffna Cultural Center, which was built with India's assistance and is a magnificent example of the bilateral development partnership between the two nations, was dedicated to the people of Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe attended the event.

"The iconic Jaffna Cultural Center was dedicated to the people today in the gracious presence of President H.E @RW_UNP,Minister@Murugan_MOS
,High Commissioner,Hon.Ministers Vidura Wickramanayake, Douglas Devananda,Kadar Masthan,several MPs& dignitaries from all walks of life," tweeted Indian Embassy in Sri Lanka.

The centre's foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2015.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan attended the event.

The official Twitter page of the Indian Minister posted: "Under the leadership of Hon. PM Shri @narendramodiJi, who always emphasised that 'Sri Lanka is our constitutional twin', Hon. MoS Shri@Murugan_MoSJi along with Hon. President of Sri Lanka Sri@RW_UNPJi, inaugurated the “Jaffna Cultural Centre” in Sri Lanka."
