Ludhiana/IBNS: International terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa is behind the deadly blast which took place at Ludhiana court in poll-bound Punjab on Thursday, according to intelligence sources.

Top intelligence sources told CNN News 18 that Babbar Khalsa head Wadhawa Singh executed the attack with the aid of local gangster Harvinder Singh (aka Rinda Singh).

Rinda, who fled to Pakistan a few years ago, allegedly activated some gangsters in Punjab.

The main aim of Babbar Khalsa, which is largely present in Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, is to make a separate country, Khalistan, out of Punjab.

Police and central agencies are probing multiple angles of the attack, which took place barely a few weeks before the next assembly elections.

The blast reportedly occurred on the second floor of the building at around 12:22 pm.

The blast has damaged the bathroom walls and also shattered the glasses in nearby rooms.

Among the injured, three are men and two women.

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said the blast was carried to disrupt the law and order situation in the poll-bound state.

"No guilty will be spared," the Chief Minister told the media.
