Jairam Thakur will be next Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, says BJP

Shimla, Dec 24 (IBNS): Jairam Thakur ha been named the next Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

The decision over his selection was made after a meeting of BJP lawmakers.

The meeting was reportedly attended by BJP's Central observers Nirmala Sitharaman and Narendra Singh Tomar.

He will take oath later this month.

The BJP won 44 of the state's 68 seats.

The BJP tweeted: "Shri Jai Ram Thakur has been elected as the leader of BJP Legislature party in Himachal Pradesh. @BJP4Himachal."
