Jammu and Kashmir: DC Shopian pays surprise visit to district hospital

Srinagar: In order to take stock of healthcare facilities being provided to the patients, Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shrikant Balasaab Suse along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Abdul Aziz and Tehsildar Shopian Bilal Ahmad paid a surprise visit to District Hospital Shopian.

An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that apart from inspecting various wards and sections of the hospital including emergency, operation theatre, ECG unit, X-ray, gynae, post operation ward and labs, he enquired about the availability of medicines, diagnostics and other facilities available in the hospital.

Interacting with the patients and their attendants, the DC enquired about their wellbeing and the facilities provided to them.

During the visit, the DC took a review of quality healthcare, emergency services, critical care, trauma management, intensive care units, referrals, sanitation, blood bank, non-communicable diseases, power auditing, implementation of Ayushman Bharat and other government sponsored schemes in the district hospital.

Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Ismail informed the DC about the innovative measures taken by the hospital administration, public grievances and redress system, color-coded bed sheets, code yellow and code blue biomedical waste management as per the guidelines.

He also apprised the DC regarding the best practice models adopted by the district hospital.

The Deputy Commissioner enjoined upon the entire medical and paramedical staff to serve the patients with utmost dedication and sincerity so that patients be made to feel comfortable while receiving treatment.

He also reiterated that district administration was committed to provide requisite quality healthcare facilities to the people.

He directed the hospital administration to maintain complete hygiene in and around the hospital and impressed upon the hospital management to ensure proper heating arrangements in the hospital.

Later, the DC visited various routes of the district and took stock of snow clearance and restoration of essential services.

The DC was informed by the concerned authorities that all the main roads including Shopian-Pulwama, Shopian-Keller, Shopian-Bijbehara, Shopian-Hermein Kulgam had been cleared of snow by the MED and interior roads connecting large regions were cleared by R&B and municipal committee Shopian teams.
