Jammu and Kashmir: Hizbul Mujahideen module busted, 3 OGWs arrested

Srinagar/UNI: Security forces busted a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) module and arrested three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and recovered hand grenades and other incriminating material in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal on Tuesday, official sources said.

They said a joint naka was established by Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF established a naka checking at Ganderbal.

During the checking security forces arrested three OGWs of HM who were identified as Majid Rasool Rather, Mohammad Asif Najar and Arshid Ahmad Khan.

They said during their questioning they admitted that they were in contact with a militant Fayaz Khan, a resident of Gutlibagh Ganderbal, presently in Pakistan.

Security forces also recovered three hand grenades and other incriminating material, sources said adding a case FIR Number 199 of 2020 Under Section 13, 18 Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) 1967 has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.
