Jan 1 terror attack in Rajouri: Amit Shah arrives in Jammu and Kashmir to meet families of those killed

Jammu: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday arrived here to meet the families of those killed in Dhangri village terror attack in Rajouri district on Jan 1.

Seven people were killed and 15 injured in firing by the terrorists and an IED blast. The deceased civilians were identified as Deepak Kumar (23), Satish Kumar (45), Pritam Lal (56) and Shiv Pal (32).

While four people were shot dead on January 1, two children were killed and several others injured from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in Rajouri’s Upper Dhangri village the next morning.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha received Shah at Jammu Airport.

Shah will visit the Rajouri district to review the ground situation with the security forces and he will also hold a security review meeting at Raj Bhavan.

Shah will hold meetings with the civil administration and also with BJP leadership followed by a press conference in late afternoon.
