Jayalalithaa death: West Bengal observes state mourning
Kolkata, Dec 6 (IBNS): West Bengal is observing state mourning on Tuesday to pay homage to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalaithaa who passed away at a Chennai hospital on Monday.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted: "As a mark of respect to late Jayalalitha Ji, our Assembly has been adjourned for today with a deep sense of grief and sorrow 1/2."
She said: "State mourning is also being observed. We are all extremely saddened 2/2."
Jayalalithaa passed away at a hospital in Chennai on Monday.
She was 68.
