Jyotiraditya Scindia's induction into BJP will strengthen party's resolve to serve MP: Amit Shah

After meeting Scindia on Thursday, Shah, who belongs to the BJP's top brass, tweeted, "Met Shri @JM_Scindia ji. I am sure his induction into the party will further strengthen BJP’s resolve to serve the people of Madhya Pradesh."

Scindia, who joined the saffron party in presence of BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda a day ago, resigned as the Congress leader on Tuesday after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah in the national capital.

Within an hour after joining the BJP, Scindia was nominated as the party's Rajya Sabha candidate.

Scindia, who had led the Congress to victory in Madhya Pradesh in Dec 2018, had a rift with the state's Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on a number of issues.

The rift was widened after Scindia few weeks ago had threatened to protest against his own government over the demands of the guest teachers.

Slamming the Congress in few words, Scindia after joining the BJP said, "The Congress is not anymore what it was used to be."

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh government fell into a crisis as 22 Congress MLAs, all loyals to Scindia, have already submitted resignations to Governor Lalji Tandon.

If the resignations are accepted, the BJP, even after losing the 2018 assembly elections, will once again return to power in Madhya Pradesh.

Ahead of Scindia's visit to Madhya Pradesh, his poster was found smeared with black ink in Bhopal prompting the BJP to blame the Congress for the deed.
