Kalraj Mishra inaugurates Khadi Spinning and Weaving Centre in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 8 (IBNS): Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra inaugurated the Harmukh Khadi Gram Udyog Sansthan, a spinning and weaving centre and marketing plaza for khadi goods at a function in Srinagar on Sunday.
The Minister also distributed 25 new model charkhas among local artisans at the function, which was organised Khadi and Village Industries Board Srinagar at 90 Feet Road, Soura. 
 
Speaking on the occasion, Mishra said that the charkha is a symbol of resistance and can help maximum number of unemployed youth and women in far flung areas to attain economic independence. 
 
The Minister said that the Centre is ready to provide all sorts of assistance to the state of Jammu and Kashmir in order to remove regional imbalances and urged the state to come forward and seek maximum help from New Delhi. 
 
He said that the Centre is especially interested in the progress of Jammu and Kashmir state in view of the disturbed state of affairs here. 
 
Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga was also present on the occasion. 
 
Addressing the gathering, he thanked the Union Minister for the ministries supportive attitude and helping approach towards J&K and also requested the central ministry to increase the targets for the state so that it benefits the local artisans. 
 
The Union Minister was also accompanied by Chairman Khadi and Village Industries Commission Vinay Kumar Saxena and Secretary Ministry of MSME K. K. Jalan.
