Chennai, Nov 7 (IBNS): Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan, who has already informed about his plans to step into politics, cancelled his birthday which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

The actor, who turned 63 on Tuesday, will however launch his new mobile app as per his initial plans.

Haasan, days ago, informed that he will launch his own party and the launch of the mobile app is the first step towards it, cooling down the speculations about his political moves.

Haasan's joining in politics is speculated over last few months as the actor had been critical of the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu. He has also said that he is not a saffron person, distancing from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He was seen to meet Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal weeks ago.

He was  present at an event organised by the principal opposition party of Tamil Nadu, the DMK, sharing the stage with the DMK chief MK Stalin.

Haasan has recently said the right-wing group can no longer deny Hindu terrorism, invoking anger of RSS ideologue Rakesh Sinha.
