Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa tests Covid-19 positive

Bengaluru/IBNS: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday became the latest politician to get infected with Covid-19.

Despite doing well, Yediyurappa is being hospitalised based on the advice of doctors.

The Chief Minister tweeted, "Upon having mild fever, today I got tested for Covid-19 and my report has come out positive. Although I am doing fine, I am being hospitalised based on the advise of doctors. I request all those who have come in my contact recently to be observant and exercise self-quarantine."

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his predecessor Akhilesh Yadav, former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala and Digvijaya Singh have tested positive for the deadly virus.

India on Friday reported more than two lakh daily Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive days.
