Police said a single-storey residential house worth approximately Rs 15 lakh belongs to a notorious drug peddler identified as Afroza Begum, alias Affri, wife of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Ganie Hamam presently staying at Trumgund Hygam Sopore.

“The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR No. 238/2023 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Baramulla," the police said.

“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of the investigation or inquiry conducted by the police.

"The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler," police said, adding that this operation reaffirms the commitment of the police to combat the drug menace.”
