Khalistan sympathizers use farmers' protest to promote their separatist agenda, says Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar

Haryana CM Manohar Khattar has said  some "unwanted elements" like Khalistan sympathizers have been seen among those farmers who are demonstrating in New Delhi.

Addressing a press conference on November 28, Khattar was quoted as saying by ANI, "We have inputs of some such unwanted elements in crowd. We have reports, will disclose once it is concrete."

"They made some objectionable statements against former prime minister Indira Gandhi and serving Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he added.

This comes months after the Canadian and the UK governments rejected the US-based Khalistani extremist group attempted to push forward 'Referendum 2020', which seeks the separation of Punjab from the rest of India, reports ANI.

The fourth round of talks between the Centre and 40 representatives of the farmers' unions, who are protesting on the Delhi borders against the new farm laws, was held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on December 3.

Farmers continued to protest at the Singhu, Kundli, Gautam Budh Dwar and other border points, braving the cold weather, while security personnel also stood guard amid the protests, now for over a week, and the wait is for the fifth round of talks between the Central Government and the farmer organisations to take place on Saturday.
