Khalistani terrorist Pannun announces $1 million support for CJP protests, calls for 'balkanisation of India'

In a video statement, Pannun claimed that he had held a Zoom meeting with CJP leaders and announced that SFJ would provide USD 1 million to support the student-led movement.

He also urged protesters to continue their agitation until August 15, reject India's Independence Day celebrations, and refuse any negotiations with the Central government.

Pannun claims meeting with CJP leaders

Pannun released a video lasting about two-and-a-half minutes in which he claimed to have interacted virtually with CJP leaders before announcing financial assistance for the protest movement, according to media reports.

He said the proposed funding would be subject to three conditions.

According to Pannun, protesters should not enter into negotiations with the Narendra Modi government, they should continue demonstrations until 15 August, and they should refuse to participate in Independence Day celebrations.

The video concluded with the message: "$1 million — Help is on the way."

Calls for India's 'disintegration and balkanisation'

During the video, Pannun claimed, "The fall of Delhi-Modi is inevitable."

He then expanded his remarks beyond criticism of the government by calling for the breakup of India.

"The fall of Modi is not the permanent solution. The only real solution is the dissolution, disintegration and Balkanisation of India," he said.

Pannun also threatened to disrupt Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day programme, stating, "We will stop the Indian PM at the Red Fort on August 15 and block Modi from leading the Independence Day celebrations."

He further announced that SFJ would organise a so-called "Khalistan Referendum" on August 16 in Indianapolis, claiming it would "liberate Punjab from Indian occupation."

Addressing the protesters directly, he said: "I call on CJP students to declare a referendum on Modi to oust the BJP from power."

NIA previously registered case against Pannun

Pannun's latest remarks add to a series of anti-India campaigns that he has led over the past several years despite being designated as a terrorist by the Government of India.

According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), a case was registered against him in September 2025 for allegedly conspiring to disrupt Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort.

The NIA alleged that Pannun had announced a reward of Rs 11 crore for anyone capable of preventing the Prime Minister from unfurling the National Flag during the national celebrations.

The agency has accused him of using foreign soil to promote separatist activities and issue repeated threats targeting India's sovereignty and national security.

Fresh endorsement comes amid ongoing protests

Pannun's latest endorsement of the CJP protests comes as demonstrations continue in the national capital.

The development also coincides with extensive international coverage of the protests by several global media organisations and social media platforms, including Reuters, BBC, The Guardian, The New York Times, Associated Press (AP), Deutsche Welle (DW) and The Wall Street Journal, which have reported on the agitation from different perspectives.

The latest video marks another instance of SFJ publicly associating itself with domestic developments in India while reiterating its separatist agenda and issuing fresh threats related to the country's Independence Day celebrations.
