Khalistanis threaten to replace Tricolour with Khalistan banner in Delhi's Pragati Maidan

New Delhi/IBNS: Amid the ongoing crackdown on separatist leader Amritpal Singh and his associates by the Punjab Police, the supporters of the radical separatist leader have issued threats to replace the Indian flag at Delhi's Pragati Maidan with the Khalistani banner, media reports said.

The Delhi Police has registered a case based on a complaint from a man who received a pre-recorded message on his phone upon arriving at Delhi airport from Mumbai.

The case is currently being investigated by the Special Cell unit of the Delhi Police.

According to reports, the pre-recorded audio from alleged Khalistani supporters included a threat to take over Pragati Maidan and replace the Indian national flag with the Khalistani flag. The audio also contained profanity directed towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Pragati Maidan gathers significance as the authorities are making preparations to host a G20 meeting in September at the venue.

Meanwhile, Amritpal Singh is still evading arrest. Several of his associates have already been arrested and interrogated by the police.
