Khap Panchayats have no rights to stall marriages between adults: Supreme Court
New Delhi, Mar 27 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled the stalling of marriages between two adults by the Khap Panchayats as illegal, media reports said.
The apex court has said no organisation has any legality to stop the marriages between two consenting adults.
The police will have to ensure protection of those adults who are marrying, the Supreme Court ruled.
