Kolkata: Four-wheeler workshop gutted in massive fire

Kolkata/IBNS: A massive fire broke out in a Maruti Suzuki workshop at Kalikapur area near E.M. Bypass in south-east Kolkata on Thursday afternoon, reports said.

According to reports, the fire was first noticed at around 2:35 pm. and fire brigade was called in.

As many as eight fire tenders, local police and Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel rushed to the scene and firemen fought for nearly an hour to douse the blaze.

Jadavpur Lok Sabha MP Mimi Chakraborty and state fire minister Sujit Bose visited the workshop later.

Local police confirmed that no casualty was reported in the incident while more than 35 cars, which were their for servicing, were gutted completely due to the fire.

Fire and emergency services department, however, has started into the reason of the fire.
