Kolkata: LF holds rally against police lathicharge

Kolkata, Oct 5 (IBNS): Protesting against the 'unprovoked' lathicharge by the police on its supporters during a rally and against the violence in recently concluded municipality election, the Kolkata wing of Left Front on Monday held a march in the city.

 

The rally started from Esplanade and ended in Sealdah area. Left leaders, including West Bengal Left Front chairman Biman Bose and a huge number of supporters, joined the rally.
 
The Left Front on Thursday organized a protest march to Kolkata Police's headquarters, Lalbazar. 
 
The police restored to lathicharge on the protesters where a huge number of Left Front supporters, few pedestrians and journalists were injured.
