Kolkata man kills wife suspecting adultery, later surrenders to police

Kolkata/IBNS: A middle-aged man on Thursday reportedly killed his wife as he suspected her to be having an extra-marital affair and later surrendered to the local police in north Kolkata's Chitpur.

According to reports, the man, Sanjay Das, arrived at Chitpur Police Station at around 11 am. on Thursday and claimed that he had killed his wife, Munmun Das, over a suspected affair.

Police later recovered Munmun Das's body from their flat at Raja Manindra Road area and sent it for autopsy.

Forensic experts also visited the scene and collected evidence.

"We have initiated a probe into the case and taken the accused into our custody," a city police official said.
