Kolkata: Plywood godown catches fire at Taltala, firefighting ops underway

Kolkata/IBNS: A massive fire broke out at a multi-storey plywood warehouse in central Kolkata's Taltala area on Monday night, reports said.

According to reports, as many as 15 fire tenders, local police and Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel have reached the scene and firefighters are currently continuing operations to arrest the blaze.

Locals said that the fire was first noticed at around 8:30 pm in the first floor of the three-storey building and it spread quickly to the second floor as a large number of inflammable objects were stored inside the godown.

Fire brigade and police have confirmed that no casualty has been reported so far and none is trapped inside the building.
