Kolkata: Swachhata fortnight begins at Press Information Bureau

Kolkata, Jan 16 (IBNS): The Swacchata fortnight or Swachhata Pakhwada for strengthening the commitments of the employees of Press Information Bureau (PIB), Kolkata towards maintaining cleanliness everywhere and devote time for this, started on Wdnesday, along with all the Union Government offices and establishments.

The fortnight started with the taking of the pledge by all the employees of PIB, Kolkata for remaining committed towards the duty of maintaining cleanliness and devote 100 hours per year that is two hours per week for voluntarily working for cleanliness, read a government statement.

Besides ensuring cleanliness, the fortnight will be observed with several other activities and events including slogan-writing and debate competitions, quiz competition, cleaning a neighbouring school and a seminar with expert speakers.

The outstanding participants will be awarded.
