K'taka Cabinet will be expanded tomorrow by inducting 7 to 8 legislators: BS Yediyurappa

Bengaluru/UNI: Following the green signal from the party High Command, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has decided to end speculations by expanding his cabinet by inducting 7 to 8 legislators on Jan 13.

The Ministers will be sworn in at 1530 hrs at Glass House in Raj Bhavan with Governor Vajubhai Val administering the oath of secrecy to the new incumbents.

Speaking to reporters, however, he declined to disclose the names of those who will be inducted into his cabinet.

Since there are only 7 berths vacant in the Cabinet, one sitting Minister has to sacrifice his post for smooth expansion.

Three legislators who quit the Congress-JD(S) coalition government to pave way for the formation of BJP government- MTB Nagaraj, R Shankar and Muniratna- are likely to be inducted.

Sources said that BJP MLA Umesh Katti - who was assured a ministerial berth by the Chief Minister - is also expected to be sworn-in.

BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka, is expected to arrive in the state capital on Wednesday morning.
