Maharashtra: Burnt body of woman found near Mumbai

Thane, Nov 1 (UNI) An unidentified severely burnt body of a woman has been discovered near a garbage bin in the Baleli village of Titwala here on Friday.

The cadaver was spotted by a passer-by who sensed a foul smell emanating from half-burnt garbage, said police.

On being alerted, the police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
According to police, the woman, most probably in her 30s, would have been killed and the body set abalze to destroy evidence.

Offence under the IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) have been filed against the unidentified accused, apprised police.
