Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, eight others take oaths as Legislative Council members

Aurangabad/Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday was sworn-in as the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in a low-key ceremony held at the Vidhav Bhavan in Mumbai.

The Council Chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar administered oaths to all nine elected MLCs.

The remaining eight MLCs, who were elected unopposed, are Shiv Sena's Neelam Gorhe, BJP's Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil, Ramesh Karad, Pravin Datke and Gopichand Padalkar, NCP's Shashikant Shinde and Amol Mitkari as well as Rajesh Rathod of Congress.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Ministers Jayant Patil and Balasaheb Thorat were also present.
