Kolkata, May 26 (IBNS): Returning to power with a huge majority, the Mamata Banerjee-led-Trinamool Congress (TMC)-government will take oath on Friday in Kolkata's historic Red Road, in front of West Bengal's people, for its second consecutive term.

Mamata Banerjee on Thursday afternoon met state's Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and put forward the cabinet ministers' list to him.

Of the state Assembly's 294 seats, Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress has captured a whopping 211 to bring the state under the largest ever single party rule. The main opposition Left-Congress alliance could manage 75 seats.

Besides heavyweight ministers of first TMC government, several newly elected MLAs, including singer Indranil Sen and cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla, are going to be ministers for the first time.

Mamata Banerjee told reporters that Kolkata's Mayor Shovan Chatterjee, senior TMC leader Shobhandeb Chatterjee, TMC MP Subhendu Adhikari and many others will handle several ministries.

A large number of VVIPs, including filmstars Amitabh Bachhan and Shahrukh Khan, Bhutan's Prime Minister, Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo, will join the second TMC government's swearing-in ceremony.

Besides the VVIPs and VIPs, seating arrangements for 20,000 general people have been made.

Meanwhile, all opposition parties, including Left Front, Congress and state BJP, have declared to boycott the programme.

The oath-taking ceremony will commence at 12:45 pm. After the event, all 42 ministers will go to state's main administrative building Nabanna to hold newly elected government's first cabinet meeting, which is scheduled to be held at 4:30 pm.

Red Road, where the swearing-in-ceremony will be held, will be opened for all vehicles after 6 am. on May 29 (Sunday), Kolkata Traffic Police officials said.
