Mamata Banerjee launches a new campaign Didir Suraksha Kavach campaign

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday launched a new campaign ‘Didi'r Suraksha Kavach’ for her party ahead of the Panchayat polls scheduled to be held in April this year.

She announced a new program as the party celebrated its 26th year of formation.

The party's new campaign, Didi'r Suraksha Kavach, will begin on January 10.

Speaking at the press conference in Nazrul Manch after the Party workers' meeting, the TMC supremo said, around 3.5 lakh party workers will reach out to 10 crore people of the state. It is being done so that no one is left out.

In this programme, Trinamool MPs, MLAs and Panchayat representatives will go to villages and sit at people's doors to listen to their grievances and demands, she said.

The chief minister also gave a strong message to party functionaries and leaders who have been accused of corruption.

She reiterated that there will be vigilance on party workers as well.

Speaking on the occasion, the party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said, “A logo has been created. This program is named 'Didi's Protection Shield'. It will be implemented from January 11. Three and a half lakh volunteers of Trinamool Congress will be active and reach 10 crore people and 2 crore households in Bengal from house to house.
