Man arrested with pistol in Assam’s Golaghat

Golaghat/IBNS: In a joint operation, Assam Rifles and police recovered a 9 mm pistol along with ammunition and apprehended a person in Assam’s Golaghat district along Assam-Nagaland border on Sunday night.

Anjan Pandit, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Golaghat district said that, based on inputs from 166 Territorial Army and 12 Assam Rifles, police had launched an operation at Chukiapathar under Sarupathar police station and apprehended a person.

"We had recovered one 9mm pistol, two rounds of live ammunition and one mobile handset in possession from him. The apprehended person was involved in a dacoity case (no – 19/21). Our investigation is on." Anjan Pandit said.

The apprehended person was identified as Nabakanta Boro.
