The two dead people are aged 76 and 54.

Kuki militants also abducted three women aged 60, 31, and 25 and three children aged eight, two and a half years, and an eight-month-old, reported UNI news agency.

The abducted people belong to Meitei community.

The photo of the three women and three children in the custody of Kuki militants also went viral in the state, the Indian news agency reported.

Eleven suspected Kuki militants have been killed in an encounter with the security forces after a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) post was attacked in the Jiribam district on Monday, media reports said.

The armed militants had attacked the CRPF post at Jakuradhor and Borobekra Police Station in Jiribam.

One CRPF constable, named Sanjeev Kumar, was injured in the attack.

Kumar, who sustained a bullet injury, was evacuated to Silchar Medical College in Assam and is under treatment.
