Messaging app WhatsApp down worldwide

Popular messaging application WhatsApp went down Tuesday afternoon.

The news of getting WhatsApp down started coming from around 12:45 pm.

Meta, which owns WhatsApp, has issued a statement saying it is working to restore services. 

"We're aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we're working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible," a Meta spokesperson said as quoted by various media. 

#whatsappdown started trending on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The WhatsApp users are also sharing memes on Twitter owing to the service halt of the hugely popular app.
